The 39th Annual Great Clermont Triathlon, Florida's traditional season opener featuring an international (Olympic) distance triathlon with a 1.5K Swim, 40K Bike, and a 10K Run. Other events include a run-bike-run Duathlon along with relay team competition. The Great Clermont Triathlon is held in conjunction with the Florida Challenge - Intimidator Triathlon which features the Intimidator, a 70.3, half-iron distance triathlon. Individual, relay team, long course Aquabike, and a 1.2 mile Open Water Swim.
The 39th Annual AdventHealth Great Clermont Triathlon has been awarded the 2022 USA Triathlon State Championship for the International & Sprint Triathlon distances. The Sprint Triathlon also serves as the Florida High School Triathlon Championship.

SWIM - The 1500 meter swim course is a triangular shaped course in Lake Minneola. Swimmers will swim counter-clockwise, keeping all buoys on their left. Swimmers will complete one lap of the course. The projected water temperature is expected to be 68-78. Wetsuit use is in accordance with USAT rules.
BIKE - The 42K (26.5 miles) bike course starts by traveling clockwise around Lake Minneola, before heading out towards Montverde/Ferndale. This portion of the course has a few small hills, but does not travel up Sugarloaf Mountain.
RUN - The 10K run course is an out and back loop course on the South Lake Trail.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING:
Qualifying for the 2022 Toyota Age Group National Championships: State championships will qualify the top 35% or top five (5) finishers in an age group (whichever is greater). You may only qualify for Olympic-distance Nationals by placing in the Olympic distance State Championship race or Sprint Nationals by placing in the sprint distance State Championship race.
High School State Championships Exemption: All high school athletes who finish any of the State High School Championships will automatically qualify for Sprint-distance (pending they are at least age 15 as of December 31, 2022.)
Athletes do not have to be a resident of a state to win that state's championship. Any age group athlete competing in an age group division is eligible to win any state championship.
Finisher medal, colorful event shirt, accurately measured and well monitored course. Post race food tent. Registering by March 1 ensures proper t-shirt size. Awards: Intimidator Triathlon - Top three overall, top masters, and the top three in each division, male and female. Sprint Triathlon - Top three overall, top masters, and the top three in each division, male and female. Relay Teams - Top three teams in each of the following categories: All Male, All Female, and Mixed Aqua Bike - Top three finishers overall, male and female. Open Water Swim - Top five Male and Female.
