Florida’s traditional season opener, the AdventHealth Great Clermont Triathlon, features an International (Olympic) distance triathlon consisting of a 1.5K swim, 40K bike, and 10K run. Additional race options include the Olympic Distance Aquabike, Duathlon, and Relay.

The event also offers a full slate of Sprint-distance races, including the Sprint Triathlon, Sprint Duathlon, Aquathlon, and Relay. Participants can also choose from the standalone 1.5K swim or standalone 5K run.

Courses:

SWIM - The 1500 meter swim course is a triangular shaped course in Lake Minneola. Swimmers will swim counter-clockwise, keeping all buoys on their left. Swimmers will complete one lap of the course. The projected water temperature is expected to be 68-78.  Wetsuit use is in accordance with USAT rules.  

BIKE - The 40K bike course starts by traveling counter clockwise around Lake Minneola, before heading out and back towards Cherry Lake, and then returning to Lake Minneola and Waterfront Park.. 

RUN - The 10K run course is an out and back loop course on the South Lake Trail.

Amenities:

Finisher medal, colorful event shirt, accurately measured and well monitored course. Post race food tent. Registering by March 1 ensures proper t-shirt size. Awards: Intimidator Triathlon - Top three overall, top masters, and the top three in each division, male and female.  Sprint Triathlon - Top three overall, top masters, and the top three in each division, male and female. Relay Teams - Top three teams in each of the following categories: All Male, All Female, and Mixed Aqua Bike - Top three finishers overall, male and female. Open Water Swim - Top five Male and Female.

 

 

 

Volunteers:

Be part of all the excitement at one of Sommer Sport's events. Whether you have just a couple of hours to spare, or the entire day, your help will make a difference.
