Sommer Sports has exciting opportunities available for individuals interested in joining our race timing team. No timing experience is required, but applicants should have advanced computer, database and networking skills.  This will be a contracted, part-time, paid position, reporting directly to the Director of Timing.

Located in Melbourne on Florida’s Space Coast, between Miami and Jacksonville, east of Orlando and Tampa, the Publix Florida Marathon & 1/2 Marathon makes for a perfect warm winter running destination for runners of all ages and levels. It is held a month after the Disney Marathon. Like a Rock-n-Roll marathon, our event includes up to 20 musical acts along the course of the half and full marathon and half a dozen on the routes of the 10K & 5-k.

It is a walker and headphones-friendly event with a seven hour time limit on the Marathon course.  Half Marathoners have 5 hours to complete the event.

A very scenic route awaits and includes four bridge crossings for the full and two for the half-marathon. The course twice takes marathoners to the beach side barrier island and back to the mainland before concluding at the riverfront Front Street Park in downtown Melbourne. The awards ceremony follows with a party featuring yet another live band.

Duathlon returns to Lake David Park in Groveland with event #2 of the 2022 Winter Duathlon Series. Located just off HWY 50, 30 miles west of Orlando, Groveland's natural charm and supportiuve community will make for a great event!

The Huntington’s Disease Triathlon is one of the few races in the world of which is operated by a not-for-profit organization. The event is organized solely by volunteers and all net proceeds from the race support research aimed at treating and curing Huntington’s disease. 

Vero Beach Triathlon is a beautiful, small town, FL coastal venue, offering both a Sprint Distance Tri: 750 m (0.46 mi) swim, 20K (12.4 mi) bike & 5K (3.1 mi) run and an Olympic Distance Tri: 1500 m (0.93 mi) swim, 40K (24.8 mi) bike & 10K (6.2 mi) run. In addition, you also have the option to sign up for the Olympic Relay or the Olympic Aquabike.

The swim is in the Atlantic Ocean with a course parallel to the shoreline. The bike is down and back on a flat section of the coastal A1A Highway. The run is also beachside and is a very peaceful and scenic route.

This is a terrific race for the full range of triathletes from first timers to the experienced racer.
